Month of Love

Well hello there Sexy February how you doin’? Yes I am a Friends fan and I’m not the least bit sorry!
Hope your Valentine’s, Galentines or Anti Valentine’s Day, completely rocked. Whatever you did and whoever you did it with – I hope it was a happy one.
My husband and I celebrated our Wedding Anniversary on Valentine’s Day. Yep, we’re that couple. Most people think we are adorable, having got hitched, on the most romantic day of the year. Others probably think we are complete muppets and are passing round the bucket, with a complementary eye roll. Whatever works I say – Got nothing but love for you!
Traditionally the gift for 5 years married, is wood. Did I give my husband wood on Valentine’s Day? I wouldn’t be so crass as to confirm or deny that. I am a lady.
I cooked a lovely South African dish as a treat for my husband. Followed that, with a tasty Pavlova as a treat for myself. We had a night in instead of a night out. We aren’t socially impaired, more support network deficient. It was great regardless.
Lovely cards, chocolates, prosecco and roses; all had pride of place in our home during our special day. My husband always chooses the most gorgeous flowers, however this time, my beautiful roses were paired with my least favourite flower…the Lily. The funeral flower of choice. The strong scent and messy pollen fall-out, make this bloom, an epic pain in the butt. They are currently decorating my conservatory, as after a week, I just couldn’t stomach their odour any more! Pretty but damn overpowering!
February is also RP (Retinitis Pigmentosa) Awareness Month. I did not know that. I do now. I guess that’s the awareness aspect covered.
Much love to my fellow RP folk. Hope you’re feeling the love, spreading the love and living in love.
