My darling daughter. I have wanted you, my whole life. To be able to carry you, for nine months, was a blessing and a relief. My need to love and protect you, took shape within weeks. As you occupied more and more of my being, I felt you in my soul. Each kick, hiccup and stretch, was a wonderful reminder, of the miracle I was fighting for. Inside, I hope you were always, warm, cosy and nourished. Outside I was scared and excited all at the same time.
This week we celebrated your birthday. You are now two years old. I am so happy, I have been able to spend each day with you. I witnessed your first steps and heard your first words. I watched you, achieve all those first little milestones, with so much joy and pride.
It hasn’t been easy but even in difficult times, your sweet face brightens my day. Your laugh, your confident walk and sassy personality, make me smile.
You are the best of me. You are my greatest achievement. I look forward to all future milestones to come. I will always hold you when you cry. Kiss away your tears. Laugh with you. Sing to you. Lift you so high, you never doubt my love. I am your Mummy and you are my world.
I love you
