Mother’s Day

This weekend we celebrate Mother’s Day.  I still have to pinch myself, that this day actually includes little ole me.  There may be some grand titles around but the title of Mum, is the one I always wanted and I will always treasure.

At my daughter’s school, they had a stall set up so the children could come in and choose their own special gift for their mummy.  My girl was so excited to pick my present and took great pleasure in hiding it alongside my card, somewhere in the house.  She doesn’t know this now but the joy I see on her face is all the gift I will ever need.

As an older mum, I never take my blessing for granted.  I waited forever to have her and now I feel complete.  I didn’t put my career before her or my social life before her.   My life just played out the way it did and she was worth the wait.

Mother’s Day celebrates us mums but we wouldn’t be here doing what we do, if it wasn’t for our children.

My beautiful girl.  I hope you know how much I love you.  You are my world.  I wanted you forever, even before I met your Dad.  As I hold your tiny hand in mine, watch you dream and hear you breathe; my heart smiles.  I am so proud of you.   Your smallest wins to your biggest accomplishments, I love to see you shine.

I always tell you that you don’t have to be perfect, you just have to try your best.  Everyone is different and that’s ok.  You are precious.  You are bright.  You are wonderful.

You save me every day.  You make me feel I can do anything and because of you, on days that I feel I can’t, you inspire me to try.

I can’t wait to celebrate Mother’s Day with you my Angel.  This is our day.  Thank you for being all that you are.  Forever my girl.  Forever my love.

Mummy x
